2 apples
Butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
4-5 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons allspice
2 teaspoons nutmeg
Raisins or chopped dates
Chopped nuts
1/2 cup water
Core the apples and butter the skin. Combine sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg in a bowl. Roll the buttered apples in spiced sugar mixture. Place in oven-proof serving bowl. Fill hollow with raisins and chopped nuts. Add water. Bake at 325 degrees until skin opens, about 45-60 minutes. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream for breakfast or dessert.
