Wickedly rich and almost irresistible to those who like sweets.
1/2 pound butter
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, or pecans are good)
Cream the butter and gradually add the sugar, vanilla, and flour. Mix in the nuts and form into balls the size of a walnut. Press flat with a fork and bake the cookies for 10 to 15 minutes in a 350 degree F oven. Remove from oven, and while still hot shake the cookies in a bag of powdered sugar.
