Fudge-like and full of nuts. –Colby Hill Inn, Henniker, New Hampshire
1 cup butter
8 squares baker’s chocolate
3-1/3 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups flour
2 cups chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt butter and chocolate in large saucepan. Remove from heat, add sugar, and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in salt, flour, nuts, and vanilla, mixing well; pour into greased 15×11-inch cookie sheet with sides. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. Do not overcook.
