This has been a family favorite as far back as I can remember. When my kids were in college, this is the one I usually fixed along with chocolate chips to send to them.
I have made them many times for cookie exchanges.
2 – packages of Ritz crackers
peanut butter
1 bag chocolate chips bits (either dark chocolate or milk chocolate – to your liking)
1 teaspoon Crisco
Spread peanut butter on 1 package of crackers.
Use the other one to top the peanut butter ones.
In a microwave bowl melt the chocolate chips/Crisco — taking time to stir several times to blend well — may need to microwave for a couple seconds in between when dipping the crackers to keep the chocolate soft.
Dip crackers — cover well and place on cookie sheets covered with wax paper — chill to set and store in air tight containers.
