1 pound green beans, trimmed
4 strips bacon
1 onion, sliced
1 red pepper, sliced
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dill weed
Steam green beans until just tender. Meanwhile, fry the bacon until crisp, then remove and set aside, draining all but 1 teaspoon of grease from the pan. Saute the sliced onion and red pepper in the bacon fat, add vinegar and seasonings, and stir in the green beans. Toss and serve with crumbled bacon bits on top.
