4 1/3 cups flour
1 3/4 cup butter (3 1/4 sticks)
3 1/3 cups sugar
8 eggs
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
ALL ingredients room temperature
Oven rack – 6 – 7″ from bottom
Preheat – 325 degree
Butter a loaf pan – dust with flour
Sift flour then measure. Cream butter and soda until soft and smooth, add vanilla – then sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Add flour and milk alternately – beginning and ending with the flour.
