It’s the beer that makes it taste so special. Be sure not to overcook the shrimp or they’ll be tough.
1 pound shrimp, medium size, in shell
1 12-ounce can beer
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 bayleaf
1 clove garlic, minced
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 teaspoon chopped onion
Put all the ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat immediately. Simmer 3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink. Cool the shrimp in the liquid, then shell and devein. Chill and serve with Cocktail Sauce.
1/2 cup chili sauce
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
dash Tabasco sauce
Mix together and chill before serving.
