Here is a different kind of pizza
1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
1 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cups milk
1/3 cups margarine
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb bulk pork sausage
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 envelope taco seasoning
3/4 cups water
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded jack cheese
2 cups chopped lettuce
1 cup fresh diced tomatoes
1/2 cup sliced black olives
1/2 cup sliced green onions
In medium bowl combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt. Add milk and margarine; mix well. Press into the bottom and sides of a 12 inch pizza pan. Bake 400 degree oven 10 minutes or til the edges are lightly browned. Cool.
In large skillet brown beef and sausage; drain. stir in tomato paste, canned tomatoes, taco seasoning and water; bring to boil. Simmer uncovered 5 minutes. Spread over crust. Combine the cheeses and sprinkle 2 cups on the meat mixture. Bake 400 degrees 15 minutes or til cheese melts.Top with lettuce, diced tomatoes, black olives, green onion and remaining cheese.
