“A truly delightful way to ‘dress up’ an old favorite! The recipe calls for frozen green beans, but if you have them, fresh beans would add a special touch.” –Holiday Inn, Intervale, New Hampshire
1 large package (2 pounds) frozen green beans
1/2 cup chopped onion 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons vinegar
4 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon dill seed
1 cup commercial sour cream
Cook beans until tender. Sauté onion in butter until translucent. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Add chicken broth gradually to make light sauce. Add vinegar, parsley, and dill. Cook until bubbly and stir in sour cream. Add drained cooked beans and serve immediately.
