New Hampshire Public Television and Yankee magazine recently presented an evening celebrating Weekends with Yankee, a new 13-episode documentary series that invites viewers nationwide to explore the best of New England, from its signature attractions to its hidden gems. Attendees joined host and explorer Richard Wiese, Yankee senior food editor Amy Traverso, Yankee editor Mel Allen, and WGBH executive producer Laurie Donnelly for a screening and Q&A to learn more about the process of bringing Yankee’s insider knowledge of New England to the screen. Row 34 Weekends with Yankee Reception
The Music Hall Loft presentation was followed by a reception at Row 34, a downtown Portsmouth oyster bar and restaurant. On the third episode of Weekends with Yankee, the hosts visit the New Hampshire coast to celebrate local oysters with Row 34 chef Jeremy Sewall, followed by a tasting of his delicious oyster stew (get the recipe here).
