Family and friends really like this flavorful variation of slaw I make with Vidalia or Texas Sweet Onions!
White vinegar and Ranch dressing give a flavor you will love on a BBQ or hotdog!
2 large Vidalia or Texas Sweet onions, sliced paper thin
1 large or medium carrot, shredded as for cole slaw
1/2 bottle Ranch Dressing, or enough to cover
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon Kosher salt
Cut onions in half from top to root, then cut the onion into paper thin half moons.
Shred carrot and mix with onions.
Add salt and pepper and toss in a large bowl
Cover with vinegar and water mixture in a covered bowl for approximatly 1/2 to 1 hour.
Drain off liquid and dry the mixture on paper towels.
Once dry return to bowl and add Ranch dressing mix until the desired texture and taste are achieved.
Serve on BBQ or hot dogs and enjoy.
