A fabulous version of a classic American dessert. Delicious!
1 cup pecans
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
3 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup light or dark corn syrup
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9-inch pie plate with the pie shell. Arrange the pecans on the bottom of the unbaked pie shell.
In a medium-size mixing bowl, beat the eggs. Add the sugar, corn syrup, salt, vanilla, and butter. Pour over the pecans.
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes. The nuts will rise to the top and form a crusted layer. Serve warm or cooled.
