Each year beginning in November, Ocean House and Weekapaug Inn on the scenic Rhode Island coast offer dozens of exciting events to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Whether you’re looking for a child-friendly outing or an exciting date-night idea, there is something for everyone at these historic and charming destinations. The Tree Lighting Ceremony is an open-to-the-public event to celebrate the holiday season with us at Ocean House on the beautiful Rhode Island coast. Children will help us light the outdoor Christmas tree, and Santa Claus will make his big arrival on a fire truck! Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa. In our upper parking lot, there will be a holiday village of local purveyors who will be selling holiday items.
Complimentary. Guests are asked to bring an unwrapped toy to donate.
In the midst of all the magic leading up to Christmas, Santa checks into Ocean House for a bit of rest and enjoyment. Children and their parents are invited to see Santa for a private visit. Children who’ve landed on the Nice List can enjoy personal time with Santa, special photo opportunities and even a special gift to take home.

Following the popularity of last year’s exclusive Fondue Express, the first in-gondola dining experience in North America, Ocean House is expanding the concept with the Fondue Village, featuring three gondolas surrounding a crackling fire pit. The iconic AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star Ocean House resort will unveil the next chapter of its one-of-a-kind winter culinary pop-up experience, bringing good taste and whimsy to New England this December. As part of Relais & Châteaux’s emphasis on Delicious Journeys, Ocean House’s culinary team has created a distinct four-course prix fixe menu with optional Veuve Clicquot champagne pairings. Highlights include a traditional Swiss Raclette; a meat plate of Bresaola, Black Forest ham, cornichons, and pickled vegetables; cheese fondue, and Swiss plum tart with cinnamon ice cream and assorted Christmas cookies. Guests will also receive a collection of Swiss chocolates as a departure gift.

You don’t need a special occasion to enjoy sparkling wine! Pop open a bottle with us and learn the process of making bubbles with Ocean House’s Center for Wine and Culinary Arts.

A tradition of Italian-American families throughout New England, the Feast of Fishes is a Christmas Eve custom at Weekapaug Inn. Enjoy a sumptuous family-style seafood meal prepared for you by the talented Weekapaug Inn culinary team. With access to some of the freshest seafood and the finest local ingredients, this traditional meal is guaranteed to be anything but ordinary. Take your meal to new heights with specially selected wine pairings for an additional $50.

Enjoy a wonderful relaxing New Year’s Eve dinner at the award-winning Weekapaug Inn. From 6:30 to 8:30, cocktails will be available in the Garden Room. Finally, have a ball with music and dancing in the Sea Room starting at 8:30, with a petit dessert and coffee buffet.
